Talking about hard things

Anyone else have the kids in the car and radio on when some terrible news broke? Ugg. Every time, it reminds me of this podcast in which child development experts teach us what to say when the news is scary. The two easiest things for me to remember from this podcast are:

  1. turn off the news w/ kids (avoid the situation)

  2. remember Mr. Rodger's mother's advice: look for the helpers
